MS Word® AutoCorrect & AutoText Entries
When choosing to import MS Word Auto-Correct or AutoText entries, Ditto will automatically find and import them from your local installation.
AutoCorrect In the "File" menu, select "Import" → "Word Auto-Correct File".
At this point, Ditto will look up the dictionary file in your MS Word® installation. This may take a few seconds depending on how many entries you have in your AutoCorrect dictionary.
Once the lookup is complete, the Ditto Import Screen appears with the AutoCorrect entries. The Import Screen lets you view which entries failed along with the reason for the failure. You can proceed to import to save the entries. You will be notified to turn off AutoText or AutoCorrect by Ditto so there is no overlap in your expansions. Your all set! Your entries are now available anywhere on your PC... Instant Messenger, Email, Web browser, and any other proprietary software you use.
Import Plain Text Entries
You can watch the video on how to import abbreviations from a text file or read the description below.
Prepare your text file in a word processor or spreadsheet. Make sure you save the file as text (CSV file type is recommended).
After saving the file in CSV, open up Ditto to import the abbreviation list. In the "File" menu, select "Import" → "From Text File".
Ditto will parse the file and report any errors. This is your opportunity to revise the shortcuts and see if there are any shortcuts that need to be fixed. Once the shortcuts look valid, press "Import" to save the entries.
Once the import is complete, you can see the imported shortcuts in the group section. Now go use those shortcuts!
