A Quick Start Guide to Ditto (2 Steps)
The following guide will take a few minutes to walk you through the basic
functionality within Ditto. You can expand your knowledge from this point
on based on your specific needs. You'll need to have a word processor
or MS Notepad open to test out the features.
Create your first shortcut by pressing the "Esc" key twice. This
brings up the
Quick-Add screen. It's
easily accessible anywhere by using this hotkey.
To save, you can click the "Save" button or press "Ctrl-Enter" on your keyboard.
In your word processor, typing the shortcut and hit the "Space" key. You'll notice
Ditto will substitute the shortcut with the full phrase.
Text Blocks are, well, blocks of text that Ditto will offer to complete
for you once it recognizes you have started typing it. It's similar to MS
Word®'s AutoText feature.
Open Ditto by pressing the "Ctrl-F7" keys together or right-clicking
Ditto in the system tray and selecting "Open Shortcuts". Select the "Text Block"
tab and enter the following:
Click Save to keep your changes.
In your word processor, start typing the phrase. You'll notice Ditto will offer to
complete the phrase for you.
