Shortcut Groups
Shortcut Groups are a way to organize your shortcuts in logical
groups. It is highly recommended to use groups, especially when your shortcuts
start growing and you would like to be able to find or print shortcuts easily,
or deactivate groups. Groups are allowed in "Text Shortcuts" and "Text Blocks".
You can modify group attributes by selecting a line in the "Group" list (in the
lower left section of the "Text Shortcuts" or "Text Blocks" tab). Once a group
is selected, right-click to see the context menu. You can also access the same options
by using the "Groups" menu.
The purpose of activating/deactivating groups is so all shortcuts under a
group can be turned off temporarily but not permanently deleted.
Select the "Active" checkbox from the menu. If a green light appears to the
left of the group name, then the group is active (default state). If a red light
appears to the left of the group name, then the group is inactive. In this
example, the "Shortcuts" group is inactive. All shortcuts in this group will not
be expanded by Ditto.
To create a group, select the "Add Group..." option from the group selection list
available when you create a shortcut. Alternatively, you can add a group using
the
Quick-Add dialog, the Groups menu, or the Group list context menu.
Enter the name of the group. A group must exist before you can add shortcuts to it.
Select "Rename Group" from the menu. Enter the name of the new group. All shortcuts
in the old group will be assigned to the new group.
Select "Delete Group" from the menu. Notice: All shortcuts
in the group will be removed as well.
